After 15 years apart, what are the chances of accidentally running into someone you used to live with? Could you imagine such a thing happening in real life? That’s exactly what it would do, and that’s exactly what it did. The incident occurred just a few days ago in Los Angeles.
Charles adopted a 2-month-old brown tabby in 2005, and the rest is history. He gave her the name Brandy. They spent a few months together pleasantly, but suddenly something awful happened. Brandy had vanished. She went to the backyard one afternoon and never returned.
His heart was broken by Brandy’s disappearance. Charles looked in every direction for the cat, but luck was not on his side.
Although the worst scenario crossed his mind, Charles remained hopeful that Brandy had been adopted and cared for properly.
Charles eventually had no choice but to move on. He adopted two younger kittens and relocated to Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, where he currently works as a computer technician.
It was a bleak situation. After 15 years, Charles received a call he never expected to receive. Palmdale Animal Care Center was on the other end of the line, calling to say they had found a wounded cat that they thought was his.
The cat was located only around 40 miles (65 kilometers) from where he resided, and thanks to the microchip put in her, the details of the feline could be confirmed. Although Charles’ residence had changed, his phone number had stayed the same.
The man was on his way to the center the next day. Brandy, his Brandy, turned out to be the cat. Their reunion was really emotional. After all these years, Brandy had become older and thinner, but in his mind, she was still the same nice, peaceful cat. The man was so moved that he began to cry.
Charles had no idea what had happened to Brandy over those 15 years, but he thought she had been adopted and kept in someone’s home without having her chip checked.
It’s a shame that Charles couldn’t take care of Brandy right now because he already has two cats in his little apartment, but fortunately, his sister lives nearby and can assist him. Charles intends to pay Brandy frequent visits as well.
