Britta Bergeson, 8, fell in love with a photograph of a blind cat that was posted on the internet.
She couldn’t get the cat out of her head, and she knew she needed to adopt her.
Justice The Arizona Humane Society took up the one-year-old cat after it was found as a stray (AHS). She had to have both of her eyes removed due to trauma.
Britta discovered her after seeing her picture on their website. Britta quickly informed her family about Justice and expressed her desire to provide her with a home.
According to her family, she couldn’t stop talking about the blind cat.
Britta even made images of herself and Justice in the hopes of persuading her parents to let her adopt her.
It worked, and Britta was taken to the shelter two weeks later by her parents.
Vanessa Crues, AHS’s adoptions supervisor, told, “It was just an instant love connection.” “She became rather emotional, and she was crying happy tears, as if to say, ‘Oh my gosh, she’s everything I expected.”
Justice snuggled up to Britta after the shelter staff placed him on her lap.
“Cats might be a little wary around people,” Crues explained, “but she simply warmed up right away.” “She let her pet her and was rolling around, soaking up all the attention. It was a good decision.”
“We were driving home and she considered name her Lucky,” Britta’s mother, Shay Bergeson, said. “Then she said, ‘We are fortunate to have her, and she is fortunate to have us!”
“She’s doing a lot better than I expected,” Shay remarked. “She sat in Britta’s room in her cat bed for the first two days, but by the third day, she was venturing out because she knew the place so well! She is the sweetest, most loving cat we’ve ever had.”
“Lucky enjoys following us around the home and is especially fond of being around our feet as we go about our daily routines,” Shay explained. “She gets up on the couches to be with us, and we’ve even found her chilling out in our beds. She will play with toys or anything on the ground that is little. She’ll even pick up Britta’s socks and carry them around the house with her.”
“Lucky has a wonderful family, including a grandfather and aunts and uncles who are all involved in making sure she has a smooth transition into her new home,” Crues said. “And that is our objective for every animal that walks through our door,” she says.
Lucky found her forever home thanks to a young girl who fell in love with her and saw past her “limitations.”
