Several children were playing outside their house in Phoenix, Arizona, when they saw a little kitten with casts on the pavement. The children rushed to her rescue and took her home, pleading with their parents to save her.
When their parents noticed the cat and her damaged legs, they phoned Hamel, a well-known rescuer, in the hopes that she might assist the unfortunate kitten.
“I knew the minute she walked through the door that I would take her immediately to my veterinarian,” Hamel shared. A little child of around 4 years old was there when she was brought to me, and she had been one of her finders. ” Cupcake was the name she had given her, and I assured her that I loved the name and that I would retain it!”
Cupcake was taken to the veterinarian by Hamel in order to determine what had happened to her. After being checked, everyone was taken aback when it was discovered that her legs were not broken at all; they were in fact totally functional, indicating that the casts had been placed on purpose. Besides being underweight, dehydrated, and starved, she was suffering from fractured legs as well.
“She was a sight to see,” Hamel said. “I must say that I have never seen anything quite like that before. Aside from the bizarre device that she was lugging about behind her, she was quite little. “She seemed to be considerably larger in the photograph that I had been provided.”
Cupcake is on her way to recovery thanks to the efforts of the veterinary team and Hamel’s help. And, once she’s back to full health, she’ll be ready to be adopted by a great family. Despite all she’s gone through, she still cares about everyone, especially her new family.
