Cat owners know only too well just how much their furry friends love to bring ‘gifts’ from their outside adventures. Everything from leaves to mice, cats are famous for bringing all sorts of treats into the house.
For one particular family, this special present was a curious ball of feathers and grass.
They instantly concluded that caution was the best course of action, being perplexed as to what the strange blend of materials was. The strange ball revealed itself to be a nest upon closer study.
Fortunately, the cautious family chose Folly Wildlife Rescue in England to deliver the entire nest to the proper people. According to Sarah Nunn, a trustee of the center told.
“Because they didn’t know where the nest came from, they couldn’t put it back where it belonged.” It had never been unlocked before. They have no notion if anything was in it at all.”
The team finally discovered what was lying inside the gorgeous nest after removing the first layer.
They discovered three little long-tailed tits, an unfertilized egg, and two others who had not fared as well and had perished.
The newborn birds were so tiny that the crew couldn’t tell what species they were at first, and they were mistakenly labeled as Gold-crests.
The birds have been reported to be doing well after one week, but the staff is conscious that it is still too early to know if they will be strong enough to make it. Regardless, they are committed to providing them with all of the care and attention they require.
Nunn went on to say that the whole situation could have been averted if cats were kept indoors at night so they wouldn’t disturb wildlife when they walked outside.
