Jennifer was taken aback when she saw how sick and little these kittens were when she first met them. The kittens were 5-weeks-old and weighed about 5 pounds – about the same size as a 1-week-old kitten. They were nothing more than flesh and bones.
Jennifer described them as the most malnourished kittens she had ever seen. They required care that went beyond what a typical foster parent could supply. She was scared these poor kittens wouldn’t make it through the night because they were so weak.
She didn’t get much sleep the first night. She kept an eye on the kittens and made sure they were breathing at all times. They were sluggish and didn’t seem to be paying attention.
But, miraculously, the kittens began to heal after a few days. In reaction to Jennifer’s voice, their heads would pop up. That was a complete 180-degree turn. Jennifer was optimistic about the kittens’ chances as she observed their small developments. And, in the end, her efforts were rewarded.
The kittens are now around 4 months old and have grown into beautiful and powerful cats. Forest enjoys exploring the outdoors, but Beverly enjoys cuddling with his mother and develops into a cuddle bug. Lincoln, on the other hand, merely wants to sit on his mother’s knee and be cuddled.
Jennifer, thank you for taking care of the kittens and sharing their incredible story with us. Those adorable kittens will never forget you, we are certain. It was because of you, honey, that they were able to make it. You saved their lives, and they’re growing into amazing, beautiful cats as a result.
