Gillian Roberts was taking the train in New York City on her way home when she noticed something that would soon bring delight to people all around the world.
Roberts was moved to tears when she saw a man holding a little kitten in his lap.
The kitten was covered in a towel and was being bottle-fed by the man.
The intense, almost palpable feeling of tenderness and care that the man seemed to exude while tending to the little cat made the scene so special for Roberts; it wasn’t just the sight of the adorable kitten that made the scene so special for Roberts; it was the intense, almost palpable feeling of tenderness and care that the man seemed to exude while tending to the little cat.
Rogers was driven to approach the man and the kitten to learn more about them.
She spoke with the man for a while and learned that he had discovered the kitten in an alley.
He’d rescued her and was now doing everything he could to care for her and help her develop into a strong, healthy woman.
Rogers couldn’t help but observe the affection in the kitten’s eyes as she plainly adored her rescuer.
“As he fed her, the kitten was looking up at him,” Rogers said.
She complimented the man for his kindness toward the kitten, and when she arrived at her destination, her entire day looked lighter and more hopeful.
And the word of Rogers’ experience immediately spread; photos of the good man and the kitten swiftly went popular after she blogged about it online.
The sheer love and compassion on exhibit seemed to reach out to people on a deeper level, lifting their spirits in the same way that Rogers had been lifted.
It only goes to show how a small act of compassion can have a huge impact and reach.
