Bean’s new owner, Francisca Franken, was seeking a companion and happened onto the fuzzy feline with the unhappy expression while browsing an animal shelter’s website.
She stated, “I saw her portrait and instantly fell in love with her. I chuckled at first because the photographs were hilarious and I’d never seen a cat like this before.”
Francisca called the shelter right away to see if Bean was still there. She couldn’t sleep because she was afraid the cat had already left, but the shelter contacted her back the next day.
“I got a call from a pleasant lady from the shelter asking if Bean was the cat I wanted to apply for because, apparently, no one had been interested in her before,” she explained.
Francisca is perplexed as to why no one wants Bean.
The cat had been living as a stray for a long period before being rescued, during which time she got an eye infection and other diseases.
Francisca described her as having “extremely stubby legs, a small tail, and the flattest face I’d ever seen.” Seeing Bean, on the other hand, made her happy cry. She had no idea why so many people thought the cat was “ugly.”
Bean is now acclimating to her new surroundings, sleeping in her owner’s bed every night. She’s also developed a peculiar aversion to olives!
“The first time she stole an olive was when I had a late-night snack and she came up to me and smacked the olive out of my palm, scooped it up, and went away to eat it under the couch,” Francisca explained.
Bean is a lot happier now that she has a caring owner who caters to her new preferences.
