Luna, a lovely black cat with a little white tip on her neck, has been at the shelter for 11 years. She is about 13 years old and the shelter’s tiniest adult cat. Luna is now a very sympathetic and caring loving sister to her furry buddies there and she adores them all.
“She came from a home with dozens of cats. The owner died and they were all transferred to local shelters.
She was feral for years, avoiding human contact. But you still have to give her time and can’t take her up. “This is her home and she has great bonds with the other cats,” a volunteer from the shelter in Toronto shares.
“After 2 months of volunteering, she rubbed my leg. So I reached down and pet her for the first time. My heart just melted. Her love for me has returned.”
“She is quite close to the other cats and several of the workers. She appears to like it here.
She has her own clique and is not a leader. Flash, aka Big Momma, is the heart of the shelter’s rear room.
Luna is naturally kind to other rescued cats. She understands them and is always there with a purr when they are sad or ill.
“Out of 200 cats, she is my #2 favorite. But knowing her condition, I know she belongs here. She adores her kitty clan.”
“Luna is a lucky girl. She has a huge open space to dwell, natural sunlight and a cool breeze on hot days, plenty of food and water, and is loved and cared for by an extraordinary group of volunteers.
“I hope that individuals who read Luna’s story will be encouraged to adopt, foster, donate, or volunteer at their local shelters.”
