In an apparent attempt to express, “I choose you,” he climbed up my shoulder and placed his paws on my shoulders. “I knew it was meant to be right then and there.”
The statement was made by Lieutenant Stephen Paslawski, a Philadelphia firefighter, who made the statement after adopting a burned cat named Campbell.
Since his 15-year-old cat passed away, Lt. Paslawski has decided to acquire a new feline companion of his own. Campbell occurred to be recuperating from many surgeries after being set on fire by two men, resulting in burns covering more than 60% of his body and needing multiple surgeries.
A case of animal mistreatment was filed against the two guys who set fire to Campbell, and they are currently serving two years in prison.
When he heard about Campbell’s terrible story on the news, Paslawski called the PSPCA to arrange for him to be adopted.
“I was appalled that anyone could do such a cruel thing to any animal. The fact that I had recently put down another cat due to a huge tumor, and the fact that Campbell had been burned, it just felt like the right match,” Paslawski explained.
In addition, he stated that “he will have a loving home for the rest of his life.”
Campbell is now two years old and is a happy and healthy youngster.
“Campbell is doing fantastic, as is his brother Geo, who was also a rescue adopted from Philadelphia Red Paw,” Paslawski said of Campbell and his brother Geo.
His favorite place to be in the summer is out on the screened-in porch, where he will sit for hours if the weather is beautiful. Additionally, he enjoys roaming the fenced-in yard and eating grass.”
“Although his hair has come back completely, he has lost the tips of his ears. “He’s still a very gorgeous young man!”
And that’s about it. He simply wants to be loved.” “It’s very much what any animal would like to have.”
