In Sturgis, Michigan, Ronald Williams, an 85-year-old Army veteran, lived alone. His daughter then suggested that he adopt a kitten from a litter of twins born to a friend’s cat. As a result, he adopted Fluffy, a cute black and white kitten. He had no idea that the kitten would shortly save his life.
Williams stated, “I glanced at him and gosh, I just fell in love with him.”
Every day, the veteran would play with Fluffy and converse while doing so. He had a tendency of saying the same thing to Fluffy every time the phone rang.
“When the phone rang, I’d shout ‘ring-a-ding,'” Ron explained. “And I had no idea he’d notice it.”
Later, it was discovered that Fluffy was paying close attention to his remarks and appeared to understand what he was saying.
Williams wore a medical alert bracelet in case of an emergency. However, he slipped and fell out of the shower one morning, hitting his head. Then he couldn’t move to summon assistance. His medical alert was on the charger in another room, and the restroom door was closed.
His phone was on the bathroom counter, but he couldn’t reach it.
“My arm was pinned under me, and the hours kept going by,” said Williams. “16 hours,” he told.
Fortunately, Fluffy, like many cats, adored the bathroom. That day, the kitten’s restroom routine would save her life.

Then Fluffy licked his hand. He realized the kitten was his final chance.
“So I said ‘ring Fluffy’. I have no hope,’ Williams said. “He was. Five minutes later, something hit my hand. And it’s why I’m here. I relive that every day. What if he hadn’t been with me? “I’d be dead now.”
Five minutes later, Williams felt the phone touch his hand. The veteran suffered bruising, bumps, and stiffness after calling 911 and going to the hospital.
Fluffy’s acts were magical to him.
“No one can deny God did this,” he stated. “I am alive now thanks to that gorgeous black and white cat. Glad I got him.”
Fluffy became William’s hero after the incident.
“He’s always been and always will be my hero,” Ron remarked. “Until the day I die, he’ll never leave my side.”
