This happened in Brazil. A big flood occurred, and the jaguar fell into the water, sinking. It was unable to escape on its own. Ordinary servicemen were alerted and rushed to the drowning animal in an attempt to save it.
The animal was taken out of the water by people. Their safety was unimportant at the time; after all, the jaguar is a terrible predator.
After being recovered, the animal did not seem to be a deadly beast. It hugged its saviors with large paws, clinging to them like a cat. It was quite moving. The predator had a lot of faith in the humans who came to its rescue.
People made the decision to bring the rescued animal with them. They decided that it would no longer be safe in the wild owing to its weaknesses as a result of the trials it has undergone.
