Keta was born a stray on the streets of New York and was tenderly taken in by a care center, which decided she needed to be terminated due to a huge tumor on the left side of her face.
The tumor was so enormous that it swelled up from the bottom of Keta’s mouth, making it extremely difficult for her to eat, see, and breathe.
Keta would have died if he had been left alone for a few more months.
Fortunately, she was discovered by Unwanted NYC Pets.
The volunteers were able to send Keta for surgery with the funds they donated, which was a major risk given that the surgery required the removal of some of her jaw.
Keta’s volunteers were concerned that once the tumor was removed, he would lose his ability to see and eat.
Keta survived.
Keta’s tumor was completely gone after a brief recovery period, her scars were healing, and she was finally able to see, eat, and breathe comfortably.
What does Keta want for Christmas? Keta is looking for a forever home to call her own.
Unwanted NYC Pets is looking for a new home for Keta, ideally in New York, so that if any tumor-related difficulties emerge again, they’ll be close by and available to help.
