Guinness World Records exist for almost anything, including the loudest purring cat. It’s a huge accomplishment to have your cat as a Guinness World Record holder.
That stated it’s time to meet the world’s loudest purring cat.
Merlin is the loudest purring household cat. Tracy Westwood adopted him as a stray cat from a shelter. He currently resides in Torquay, Devon, England.
Merlin used to be your typical 13-year-old domestic cat who lived with his loving and caring family. His owner realized one day that he was born to do great things.
His owner had previously complained that his purring was too loud and that she had to repeat herself.
She also claimed that when she is blow-drying her hair, she can hear him. It’s no surprise he’s the purring cat with the loudest purr. The previous loudest cat, again from the United Kingdom, was recorded at 67,7 dB in 2011.
