During the summer of 2017, a vet student by the name of Lindsey came upon a little motherless ginger kitten sitting by the side of the highway. The kitten was transported to the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine in critical condition.
She was unwell and unable to feed on her own, and she was on the verge of being put to death. Fortunately, Lindsey made the decision to bring the cat home with her and care for her properly. She even gave the unfortunate kitten a new name, Smush, to make him feel better.
When Smush arrived at the foster home, she was given medicine for an upper respiratory illness she had contracted. Smush became stronger and started to feed on her own about a month after that. Her upper respiratory illness had cleared completely, and she had been free of ringworm for many weeks. The lovely kitten was healing in foster care. She was in good health, was lively, and was eager to find her forever
Fortunately, Shannon and Sarah, who live in Florida, applied to adopt Smush and were successful.. They came across the adorable kitty via a Facebook post and immediately realized she was destined to be with them.
With the formal adoption of Smush, she is now enjoying her new life with her loving family, which includes three dogs, three cats, and a hedgehog. Smush is the youngest of five children.
