From the office building where he lives, this specific rescue cat has been collecting donations for homeless people.
Sir Whines a Lot, the cat’s name, literally takes dollar bills from passers-by who put money in a slot in the door of GuRuStu, a marketing agency in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
When the cat’s owner, Stuart McDaniel, discovered that locals were playing with him with cash, he and his colleagues decided to donate the money to a good cause. McDaniel is also the proprietor of GuRuStu, a family business.
“Why is there money on the floor at the office?’ I get a call from my father. ‘There’s at least $5 on the floor near the glass,’ McDaniel added. “If people are already doing it, my mom and sister [and I] felt we might as well use it for something good in the community.”
McDaniel continued by saying that he doesn’t know who slipped the first dollar bill through the door, but they’ve started a movement. Soon after, McDaniel and his firm shared a few amusing videos on their Facebook page from residents paying money to Sir Whines a Lot, also known as “Cashnip Kitty.”
“Warning: Cashnip Kitty is a hustler with a humanitarian heart,” they said on the door. He’ll snare your cash!” The placard also explains how donations are sent to the Tulsa Day Center for the Homeless.
Sir Whines a Lot makes around $30 to $40 per weekend, according to McDaniel. McDaniel has so far sent the Tulsa Day Center two payments totaling more than $100.
Monica Martin, the center’s director of development, commented, “I’ve heard of a number of unusual ways people are raising money for us, but this is a first for me and I absolutely adore it.” “The cat appears to enjoy the attention, which has benefited and blessed us.”
