After finding a stray cat on their porch, a couple decided to take it in and nurse it back to health.
This all started in February when the cat started meowing loudly in the front yard. Because his left leg was wounded, the couple decided to take him to the veterinarian.
The feline didn’t have any bone damage, and his seriously infected wound was most likely the result of being bitten by another cat, according to a complete examination and x-rays.
The cat also had several older lesions on the left side of his body, including a bone fracture in his left front leg that had likely occurred weeks earlier, according to the vet.
Because he was infested with fleas and ticks, the stray was given antibiotics as well as medication for internal and external parasites.
The kitty was brought back to the couple’s home from the clinic a few days later and was given antibiotics and intramuscular injections twice a day for the next week.
The cat was first unable to put any weight on his left back leg, but with careful attention and care, including the application of antiseptic to the wound several times a day, it began to recover.
