It’s nearly impossible for a newborn animal to live without its mother. That is why nothing compares to a mother’s love, and the animal kingdom is brimming with instances of caring mothers.
Because her cat had recently given birth to kittens, one zoo employee decided to bring her cat to work with her to act as a surrogate mother. Everyone was hopeful that the cat would take the newborn lynx in as a member of her own family.
Fortunately, the domesticated cat’s maternal instinct kicked in soon after they met, and she began loving and grooming Nika as if she were her own. Nika the lynx is gaining strength, eating better, and growing quickly.
Everyone, after all, deserves a little motherly affection.
