Hungry in the streets and covered in ants, this little kitty needed a miracle to stay alive… Read on to know what happened to him…

A little one-month-old kitten was discovered walking alone on the streets of North South Wales, Australia, earlier this year. Because it was too weak to stand on its own, the kitten was nearly starved to death.

Ants crawled and bit his skin, and he struggled to keep his eyes open. If it hadn’t been for the kindness of one man, the cat might have died. He took the kitten home without hesitation, bathed him, and fed him well. Gaius was the kitten’s name, and the man was concerned about his health, so he took it to a local shelter.

Gaius’ condition astonished the doctors there. The kitty was severely underweight, weighing only half a pound! He had most likely lost contact with his mother since birth and was wandering the streets alone, in need of assistance.

Gaius was fed and kept warm by the crew, of course. Gaius was growing stronger by the day, and after just one night, he had increased his weight by 25%! The poor creature was clearly hungry, and the staff had enough to spare.

Gaius gained enough weight to stand and walk on his own in only four days and was significantly more lively than previously.

He’s still a little weak, but his health has substantially improved. Gaius is doing well and will be placed for adoption once he is strong enough. He appears to be rather adorable, and we’re sure he’ll find a home soon.
