When Loki was adopted by his adoptive home, he was a tabby kitten.
The small child was understandably shy and sought comfort from his human parent.
When Loki met the family dog, Okami, the kitten was instantly embraced by his new Pomeranian best buddy — and the rest, as they say, is history.
Loki’s owner then went on to post the adorable story on Imgur, and we can’t get enough of it. Loki and Okami became best pals the first time they met.
Okami was smitten by his new kitty pal! He’d stay by the kitten’s side while he slept so he’d be there when Loki awoke. Okami couldn’t stop kissing Loki and was always trying to clean him. Friendship aspirations that are serious.
Okami instantly became Loki’s protector, always checking on him to make sure he was okay. And the feelings were definitely reciprocated!
Okami and Loki are still sleeping, eating, and napping together. They’re a match made in heaven! Loki, like any good buddy, does not pass judgment on Okami when he gets a haircut.
Dogs and cats are often shown as fatal foes, but as these two demonstrate, when all of the prejudices we humans set on animals are removed, friendships may grow regardless of species.
