Claudia Wright’s residence was visited by a pregnant cat that was looking for a home about four years ago. Wright fell in love with the kitten right away and wanted to adopt her. Posey was the name she chose for the kitten.
Posey’s three children were raised until they were old enough to be adopted into their own households after she gave birth.
Posey, in short, never lost her maternal instinct.
Posey walked outside to play four years later. She had been gone for a few hours, and when she returned, she had a surprise for Wright.
Wright added, “I believe she missed having a baby around and found one.”
While out on one of her outside explorations, Posey came upon Meesy, a little 7-week-old cat. Posey’s maternal instincts must have kicked in, for rather than abandoning the poor kitten, she chose a home for her and gave her to her mother.
Meesy needed to be bottle-fed because she was so small and immature. Wright looked after her, and anytime Wright wasn’t carrying Meesy, Posey was close by. As if Meesy were one of her own, she hugged, groomed, and protected the week one. Wright stated, “They love each other.” “They’ve adopted each other totally.”
