Cats have an extraordinary ability to fit themselves into odd places.
So one day one Texas family luckily found a tiny kitten wedged in the rim of their automobile wheel before it was too late.
The family went to local heroes for help after two days of attempting and failing to release the terrified small furball from one of the rim holes.
The San Antonio Fire Department took over, and they had to get creative to get the cat out of his situation.
The team determined they would have to saw through the rim after soap failed to make the kitten slick enough to slide out.
One firefighter was supporting the kitten’s weight, while another was grinding through the metal using a spoon as a shield over his neck and head to protect him from the blade and sparks.
That must have been terrifying for the cat, but the unhappy creature was ultimately set free!
Many Facebook commenters applauded the firefighters’ sensitivity and compassion, with one saying, “WHOEVER THOUGHT OF THE SPOON DESERVES A RAISE.”
As if the rescue couldn’t get much better, the kitten was reportedly said to have found a new home right away!
The family that found the cat in its distress took heart and took it home with them. The cat, on the other hand, is unlikely to approach the car in the future!
