Some cats are never able to find a home with a loving family. Others have had better fortune, and some are genuinely grateful for it. As evidenced by the instance of a blind cat discovered roaming the streets of Cape Town in South Africa earlier this year.
She was a stray kitten who had been rescued and brought in by an animal rescue organization. They believe her mother was murdered and that the poor blind kitten was abandoned. Although she has a clear disadvantage, June the kitten behaves exactly like any other cat. Her inability to see does not prevent her from going about at full speed in her new home.
June was adopted by a caring owner after spending several months with her foster mother, Holly, in a foster home. The touching story of the adorable kitty was shared on the organization’s Facebook page, where it earned a flurry of likes.
After seeing an article about June, Andrew Duff made the decision to adopt the kitty as soon as possible. He dialed the number and arrived at the shelter, where he was immediately drawn to June.
And what did she do as a result? She embraced her new father as soon as she saw him. June was visibly relieved to have found a fresh, caring environment. We can only hope that this is the case for all of the kittens left on the streets.
