All cats, in my opinion, are attractive in their own way. Cats with unusual coats and markings, on the other hand, always attract much more attention than others. Senior Scrappy has been attracting attention for some years. This senior cat was formerly completely black, but over time he got vitiligo. And as a result, his coat was turned into a beautiful speckled design. It’s simple to see why his photos have been floating online for years. He’s extremely gorgeous!
I wanted to share Scrappy’s story and photos with you all, even though he is no longer with us. He was a really gorgeous feline who I had the joy of writing about many years ago for another cat website, and I still think he is just as lovely today as he was then. I’m quite sure I’ve never seen a cat like him before, and I doubt I ever will.
“He was born in 1997 as a black cat and only a few years ago he started going white (perhaps vitiligo) and has ended up with this remarkable pattern,” his Facebook page says.
David, Scrappy’s owner, describes how he met Scrappy:
“Scrappy was sitting alone, and while he was a lovely cat, we didn’t think others would find him as adorable as his brothers.” I decided to pick Scrappy since I figured he’d be the last one taken, if at all.”
Around the age of seven, David noticed that his feline friend was developing white spots on his body.
Scrappy was born with the appearance of a regular black cat. That is, until he reached the age of seven, when white patches emerged on his fur.
