A year ago, a bunch of felines was rescued and sent to Missouri’s Five Acres Animal Shelter. Surprisingly, the majority of them seemed to be Havana Browns, an uncommon breed.
According to current estimates, there are just approximately 1,000 members of this breed left on the planet. This breed is a cross of Siamese and other breeds, and its coat color is similar to that of Cuban cigars. These cats, like any other cats, deserve to have a fun and full-of-love existence, but they never got to enjoy any of it since they were kept in confined and dirty cages.
Many of the cats discovered had PSTD. They were terrified and kept a confined pace with froth in their mouths. The cats’ general health had been mistreated when they came to Five Acres. People got them after they received specific care for their bodies and rotten teeth.
The difficult part was still to come. It was also their broken soul that needed to be repaired. It took a lot of effort to assist them with their mental transition. Fortunately, the outcome was positive. By early December, several of the cats were ready for adoption.
Because these cats require a lot of care and affection, the team at Five Acres wanted to be sure the families who would be adopting them would be a good match for their love-hungry personalities.
Acorn, the only notable example of this sad truth, is among the 90 rescued cats. Due to dislocated kneecaps caused by his hunched lifestyle, he could hardly walk and stand erect.
Dr. Arndt performed a dangerous procedure on Acorn, which he courageously underwent. In half of a year, Acorn made a significant improvement in its recovery. During his time in the foster home, he was the first cat to try out the underwater treadmill.
There are also signs that Acorn is regaining his feline instincts and lovely personality. We may now look forward to a great future for him in his forever home.
