A man has done all in his power to help 200 stray and abandoned cats in a war zone…

Aleppo, Syria’s biggest city, has been ravaged by conflict, violence, and devastation since 2012, as competing groups have attempted to wrest control of the city from the government. Many people left the city in search of better opportunities, and in the midst of their haste, they were forced to leave their beloved pets behind.

These unfortunate animals, on the other hand, are unable to care for themselves on the hazardous streets when separated from their owners. As a result, a compassionate guy named Mohammad Alaa Aljalee decided to remain in the city in order to protect the defenseless animals.

A year after starting with only 20-30 cats, Alaa has grown to be the caretaker of over 170 cats and even a few dogs. His shelter, known as Il Gattaro d’Aleppo, was established to offer a safe haven for all of the abandoned cats. Since then, desperate families have been entrusting their pets to Alaa before fleeing the country in the hope that they would be cared for properly.

Alaa shared a heartwarming story of a little girl who wept as she gave him her furry companion for the first time. Her parents made the decision to leave the country and were unable to bring the cat with them. She pleaded with Alaa to send her photos of her kitties till they returned, and he fulfilled her request. He regularly sends her photos of her pet cat, which she adores. “Please promise to bring my cat back to me when we return,” the girl begged, according to Alaa.

Despite the fact that all of his pals have left the nation, he is not alone since these cats have become his newfound companions. “I’m going to remain with them no matter what happens,” he said. When someone has compassion in their heart for other people, they also have mercy for all living things.

Alaa has earned the nickname “the cat man of Aleppo.” Not only animals have benefitted from Alaa’s care and nurturing, but he also often rescues people who have been affected by the conflict. This guy is now a regular part of Aleppo’s everyday life, and he is regarded as the city’s hero. He is deserving of a medal for all he has accomplished.
