A dog became the day’s hero after saving a cat in a cooler in a plastic bag outside an Arizona animal rescue shelter.
It all happened on a beautiful Saturday when a lady was strolling down the Avenue of the Fountains with her Siberian Husky, Koda. The puppy then drew the lady outside the Fearless Kitty Rescue to a zipped red cooler in a polythene bag. When the owner realized the dog wouldn’t stop sniffing the bag, she decided to look inside.
To everyone’s surprise, there was a living black kitty inside the bag. Teryn Jones, a Fearless Kitty Rescue spokesperson, stated that the polythene bag was not cold because it was outside in the 107-degree Arizona heat. Since June, the temperatures have been this high.
Fearless Kitty Rescue later adopted the cat and named her Juliane. “This comes from Danish culture; it means fearless, and Fearless Kitty Rescue believes she is truly fearless,” Teryn Jones told in an interview.
Nobody knows how the poor thing got trapped in the cooler and the plastic bag as of yet. Also, no one knows how long it was trapped in the bag before the furry hero arrived. Fortunately, the cat has been fine since it was rescued. However, a portion of her tail may need to be amputated.
This is the third such incident that Fearless Kitty Rescue has witnessed this year. Teryn Jones had harsh words for those who endanger innocent animals like Juliane. Teryn had the following to say.
“You simply cannot do this to animals. You simply cannot do this to anyone. Let’s be real. Animals don’t have a voice and can’t communicate what’s going on.”
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the situation.
This dog is a true hero for rescuing this helpless cat! That must have been terrifying for the poor kitty, but thankfully, this amazing dog was nearby to assist!
