After being abandoned at birth, a kitten insists on never being alone again.
Patricia Lika, a foster mom in Las Vegas, was approached earlier this year about a pair of kittens in severe need of care. They were discovered outside barely hours after birth.
The kittens’ mother never returned, so a Good Samaritan rescued them and transported them to get care. “It was evident that we needed to intervene in this circumstance,” Patricia said in the interview.
Alexander, the kitten, was a warrior from the start. He did his best to eat each meal and lavished cuddles on his younger brother Liam. Liam, who was just half the size of his brother, lost his fight despite their best efforts to save them both.
“Alexander missed his brother, but he was able to carry on with his life. He began to gain weight and develop into a healthy, fat boy” Patricia added in the interview.
Patricia gave the kitten constant bottle feedings and spent a lot of time with him. He’d snuggle into the crook of her neck and fall asleep almost instantly. Alexander grew close to his foster mother and insisted on seeing her on a regular basis.
When he wanted his foster mother to stay, the orange youngster looked at her with those wistful, wide doe eyes. For good measure, he would crawl into her arms or lap as he grew bigger.
“The way he stares at me, oh, he melts my heart. I’m quite proud of how far he’s come.”
When Alexander notices Patricia in the room, he bolts. He insists on getting near to her so he can give her numerous of his characteristic kisses.
“I’ve never had a kitty give me kisses all the time. He’s such a sweetheart “Patricia shared with us.
When he sees an empty lap, the kitten is determined to fill it. He’s enamored with his foster mother because she’s the only person he’s ever known since infancy.
The orange feline has also made friends with the resident dog and other foster cats, demonstrating that despite his diminutive size, he is a force to be reckoned with.
When it comes to playing and wrestling with bigger cats, Alexander can hold his own stand. He is inquisitive, daring, and affectionate towards those he meets.
“He follows me around the entire day and kisses me a million times. He’s such a unique boy. I have faith in Alexander’s ability to find the finest forever home and to continue to love his forever person(s).”
The tabby is now ready to embark on his next adventure. He wishes to be surrounded by friends and family at all times and to never be alone.
“This child will need to live in an animal-friendly environment. He cares for other people. He’s a gregarious boy, therefore he can’t be alone.”
“Alexander is in excellent health, ecstatically joyful, and enjoying his best life. He’s a social butterfly and a lover.”
